Gold new promo: Akshay Kumar is all about desh ka naam in this video


We are looking forward to all the movies releasing this August 15. One of them is Akshay Kumar starrer Gold. The sports drama is a fictional retelling of the events as to how free Indian won its first Hockey tournament at the Olympics. The first trailer of the movie has already impressed us. Now, dialogue promos are being released by the makers building up to the release. The new dialogue promo features Akshay Kumar convincing a committee to let him lead the hockey team of India. One member seems fairly sceptical of the same. That sort of reminds me of Chak De! India.

Well, I am once again going to laud the background score of the film. Even when the theme music starts to play in the dialogue promo, you can feel a burst of energy. Also, Akshay’s look as a Bengali babu is quite endearing to see. He has earlier said, “I worked closely with our dialect coach. I have stayed in Kolkata for two years which actually helped me to play the character, its body language etc. I tried to speak with a Bengali accent… (but) I tried not to make it a caricature.” Check out the new promo below.




Talking about Gold, Akshay has said, “People should know what happened in 1948… How we won the first Olympic gold medal in hockey after the independence of India. I think things also have changed because the government is supporting the sport a lot, the number of medals are increasing in the game, so I am happy seeing the encouragement.”

Directed by Reema Kagti, Gold also stars Mouni Roy, Kunaal Kapoor, Amit Sadh in key roles. The movie will be clashing with John Abraham’s Satyameva Jayate on August 15.
